General Introduction To the Year 2018

What 2018 is treating us with? Venus will be a evening star most of that year. Saturn also will be of interest to observe as Pluto, by 2018, is reaching a 'special' opposition as the faraway world is reaching its line of nodes, moving downwards. 2018 is not a leap year. In terms of great astronomical events, 2018 will have Mars concerned with a Mars observation campaign spanning 2018-2019 -and a remarkable one as the Red Planet will reach a perihelic opposition! Two total lunar eclipses will be seen, of which a one very deep (thus of interest), along with 3 partial solar eclipses! A fine observational year thus!
