The U.S. Eastern Coast as Seen From the ISS At Night. That is another nighttime photograph as taken from the International Space Station (ISS). It has been taken by one member of the Expedition 30 crew, currently aboard the space station. That picture is showing much of the eastern, Atlantic coast of the United States. Large metropolitan areas and other easily recognizable sites from Long Island to the Virginia/Maryland/Washington, D.C. area are visible in the scene, from left to right, with the Atlantic Ocean above. The greater eastern U.S. metropolitan area is spanning from Boston, Mass. (out the frame to the left) down to Washington D.C. the brightest area right of center. Voici une autre vue nocturne prise depuis la Station Spatiale Internationale, ou ISS. Elle a été prise par l'un des membres de l'équipage de l'Expedition 30, qui se trouve actuellement à board de la station. L'image montre une grande partie de la côte est des Etats-Unis. Les grandes zones urbaines et autres sites facilement identifiables se voient, de Long Island à la Virginie, au Maryland et à l'aire de Washington (de gauche à droite sur l'image; l'océan Atlantique est en haut). La grande conurbation urbaine américaine de l'Est s'étend de Boston, dans le Massachussets (hors de l'image, sur la gauche) jusqu'à Washington, la capitale américaine (la zone la plus brillante presqu'au centre).
